About the Game

Mario Tennis Aces is a fun to play sports video game. The gameplay of Mario Tennis Aces consists of playing matches of tennis with various characters from the Super Mario series.

It is a great game that is playable in a variety of modes including local multiplayer (in the same room with friends or family), and online multiplayer. It can be played traditionally using the buttons on the controller, or by using the controller as a motion controller, allowing you to swing the controller as you would a tennis racket.

Features include:

  • 'Swing mode', allows you to use your Joy-Con like a tennis racket. This mode is perfect when you want to play the game casually with your friends and family, or just to get your body moving.

  • This game allows up to four players to step onto the court together – anytime, anywhere!

  • Once you connect online, you can play a match with your friends or other players. Events and online tournaments will be held frequently, allowing you to compete against other players.

This game features a 'Swing Mode' which means you can swing the controller as you would a normal tennis racket. We recommend you turn on 'swing mode' if you would like to play and be physical. From the main menu of Mario Tennis Aces, you can choose the Swing Mode option to play locally with other players. You'll hold one Joy-Con and swing it like a tennis racket, which will return shots back at your opponent.

Playing this game in 'Swing mode' requires you to charge up shots by holding the Joy-Con back before swinging it forward when the ball gets close. This swing timing can be difficult, as it requires accuracy. So try practicing, as it may take a little time to get the hang of it.
